Latitude: 53.474158 | Longitude: -1.971604
A chance to explore another section of the NW Boundary with Learning & Discovery Rangers, setting out from Longdendale Activity Centre near Bottoms Reservoir.
A cobbled path led us out of Tintwistle, which was a physical marker of the boundary. We slowly left houses behind us and passed a few farm stead’s that were sighted just inside the boundary. We then joined the Pennine Way briefly, over Ogden Brook and onto higher ground to get a sense of place. At times it can be easy to follow the boundary, but then it will take a route across moorland that follows an old administrative boundary line or where previous land ownership may have altered its course.
