Understanding QGis & Publicly Accessible LiDar Information
There is a wealth of publicly available 3D data online through the Environment Agency, but you will need to take the time to understand certain software packages to be able to process and then view the multiplicity of data obtainable. Over the past month we have been learning to use QGis, MeshLab and begin to get basic 3D sections rendered of parts of the NW boundary. Some of these files have been 3D printed to test our working process. What we found of interest is that there are still large areas of the north west of Peak Park that are still yet to be scanned. The absence forms another set of digital boundaries, which we will explore further.
